Band News - 28 November 2016

A few of our members had a busy musical weekend - Bob's cadet band were on duty at the Birmingham Tattoo, whilst David and Jamie helped Loanhead Brass Youth win a gold award at the Scottish Brass Band Championships.

But it was back to business tonight, and with the Xmas concerts looming, we had fantastic numbers of players. But who was Star of the Evening?

The cornet / trumpet section, featuring new member Emma, was sounding excellent. Stuart returned after his knee op to help the clarinets break the all-time record for the biggest section, with an incredible nine clarinets 😄

The percussion section had all sorts of kit, including the timpanis, in action this evening. But despite strong competition, tonight's award was won by euphonium players Bill and Jill, for their uplifting soli in Morning Star.
