Our Star of the Evening award was hotly contested tonight. The percussion section was first to make a claim, using every piece of percussion they have ... they even dusted off the gong, and what a sound!

Talking of sounds, the trombones were brilliant in Satchmo. But the saxes outclassed everyone - and not just for their legendary 'accidentals' ... tonight there was a full complement of tenor, baritone and altos - including Star of the Evening Vicki, for a solid solo in Aladdin. Sublime!
