Concert News - 24 October 2015

Bob took the band through today's afternoon rehearsal then we enjoyed tea (thank you!) before the main event, 'Music through the Ages'.

The concert included material which spanned centuries and genres. The audience particularly enjoyed Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony in the first half, whilst movie music from How to Train your Dragon and Star Trek went down very well in the second half.

A few audience comments ... 'I love the atmosphere', 'absolutely brilliant', 'great conductor'. And so, whilst there were a few candidates for tonight's Star of the Evening, this time the award goes to you, the audience. Thank you for your support.

Thanks also to Garry and Bristo Baptist Church for their ongoing support. To Bill and Euan for their efforts with the timpani, which were much appreciated by the band and the audience. And to Katy's mum for playing the organ (otherwise the organ symphony might just have been any old symphony).

Now it's over to you. The band's next concert will be on Saturday 12 December 2015 and will feature a choir. Why not let us know what music you would like to hear? Contact us through Facebook or via our website's contact page with your suggestions.
