Band News - 20 March 2017

At the last rehearsal before the concert day there was an enormous band and an equally enormous sound. So who were our shining bright stars tonight? Once again the trombone section was immense and the horns were incredibly mellow. Michael did really well conducting a couple of pieces, leaving Bob free to join the percussion section on glockenspiel (even though the flutes had the glock music hiding under their chairs). But tonight's winner is Kirsteen, who somehow managed to play the 1st and 2nd oboe parts at the same time. Proving - once again - that there is something very suspicious about double reeds😉

And if you would like to hear Kirsteen's oboe for yourself, the concert is at 7pm on Saturday at Bristo Baptist Church. Tickets, priced £5 / £3 concession, will be available on the door (the side door on Dean Path). Hope to see you there!
