Band News - 5 June 2017

With the dust settling from our fantastic 'Best of Both Bands' concert, we had an enjoyable evening playing a few different pieces. So who was Star of the Evening?

New percussionist Dominic was immense, both on timpani and on drum kit - great debut Dominic 😀

The trumpets enjoyed their karaoke version of Trumpets Wild, which was missing the top line - Gordon, we (and they) need you! Meanwhile, with the tubas missing, Peter managed to pinch nearly all their parts to play on bassoon. But Peter, you missed one - Paul got the cookie monster solo on bari sax 😁

But there can be only one winner, and we need a big drum roll for this one - cue Dominic on the timpani. Because for the very first time in BCCB history, founder member and all round great person Julie is Star of the Evening for the right reasons - with only a few minutes to go before finishing time, Julie asked conductor Bob if we could play MacArthur Park. What a fantastic piece! Yay, we love Julie!
